With the support of the Riga City Council Department of Education, Culture and Sports, SOCINTEGRA implemented the project “Audiovide”.
The idea was born from a desire to describe what we
see and to share love for our native city, its architecture, and its history.
To bring the project to life, SOCINTEGRA assembled a
special team: stage speech specialists, a text author, a translator, and a
narrator. Over several months, texts were written and translated, diction was
refined, and numerous rehearsals and experiments were carried out.
The resulting audio novellas allow people with visual impairments to create a mental visual image of the city through listening. In this way, many people were introduced for the first time to the concept of audio description — short verbal explanations of visual images.
