From time to time, SOCINTEGRA brings together an active group and sets out on journeys across Latvia. Group sizes vary — sometimes 2–5 people, other times 9 or more. Depending on the size, we travel by car or minibus.
Past adventures:
A tour in darkness at the Rainis and Aspazija
House-Museum
We went with nine people, including two assistants, traveling by minibus. The
exhibition turned out to be surprisingly engaging — there were things to listen
to, touch, and even smell. It was a fascinating experience for both sighted and
blind participants.
Trip to the Ieriķi watermills (2021)
A small group — two people, an assistant, and a guide dog. The mood was
excellent, the adventures cheerful, and at times even a little extreme. We
enjoyed the fresh air, listened to the sound of waterfalls, swung on swings,
and tasted treats at a café.
Āraiši Archaeological museum (2014)
This trip included a larger group — ten people, with two assistants and a guide
dog. We traveled in two cars, with plenty of time for conversations on the way.
Journalist Jana Ermakova from LR4 also joined us and spent the entire visit
blindfolded. The museum staff created an unforgettable experience: we listened
to stories, churned butter using traditional tools, wove belts, ground grain
with millstones, and smelled dried medicinal herbs. And here is a video from the trip.
